    Malagasy chess tournaments, without the spreadsheet

    Chessgasy is the tournament and rating platform for Malagasy chess, where an arbiter runs a round's Swiss pairing in one click. A club creates its tournament and publishes results from its own workspace, and a player follows their rating without asking anyone.

    The situation

    Malagasy tournaments were run out of spreadsheets and chat groups. An arbiter drew up pairings by hand between rounds, and results circulated as photos before being retyped.

    Pairing by hand takes the whole break, and a mistake only shows up in the next round, too late to undo. Players had nowhere to look up their own rating except by asking someone.

    What changed

    MAMYCODE built ChessGasy as an in-house edition. Players follow their national rating, arbiters launch a Swiss pairing in one click, and clubs run a full tournament from registration through to final standings without a spreadsheet.

    A club publishes its tournament and takes entries live; players check their history and their rating from their phone. ChessGasy is published by MAMYCODE LLC, and a Flutter mobile version is in development.
